Greenville, ME – Samuel F. Gynan, 79, of Greenville, formerly of Seabrook, NH died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home He was born in Seabrook, NH on March 3, 1936, a son of the late Dexter E. and Grace E. (Walton) Gynan. Samuel was an avid outdoorsman who especially liked camping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp on Kingbury Pond in Mayfield, listening to country music and making many trips to Branson, MO. Mr. Gynan was very active in Masonry, was Past Master of Amity-Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Danvers, MA; Past District Deputy Grand Master for the Salem and Lynn, MA Eighth Districts; Past Master of the Twenty Eighth District Lodge of Instruction. After moving to Maine he was Secretary for several years for Columbia-Doric Lodge #149 in Greenville. He was also active in the Snowmobile Club in Greenville and the Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club, where he served as President for a year. He was also very active in supporting the Pine Tree Camp for children with disabilities. Family members include his wife Sandra Gynan of Greenville; children, Linda Beaulieu and her husband Robert of Amesbury, MA, Steven Gynan of Palm Coast, FL, Thomas Gynan and his wife Ann of Holly Hill, FL, John Gynan and his fiancée Christi Totzen of Salisbury, MA; stepchildren, Jody Parisse and her husband James of Billerica, MA, Deborah Twiss of Norwood, MA, Rebecca Twiss of Newport; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2015 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A Masonic service will start at 5:45 PM followed by a memorial service at 6 PM in the funeral home. Family and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Pine Tree Camp, 114 Pine Tree Camp Road, Rome, ME 04963.
