Thomas R. Cass, 91, of Hampton Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was born on November 2, 1930 in Peabody, MA the son of the late Thomas E. and Alice (Richardson) Cass. Raised in Middleton and Topsfield, MA, he graduated from Danvers High School in 1948 and later from Merrimack College in 1952, with his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Following graduation, Tom enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served during the Korean War. Returning home from the service, Tom went into operations management for several manufacturing businesses. He met his future wife, Marjorie (Perry), at a college mixer and they were married in 1962. Tom and Marjorie started their lives together in Middleton, MA, and then moved to Upper Saddle River, NJ and Newburyport, MA before settling in Hampton Falls in 1973. Tom knew early in his career that he wanted to run his own business, and in 1970, purchased Aqua Laboratories, Inc., an industrial water treatment company based in Amesbury, MA and serving New England. He remained active in the firm until recently, having passed the daily leadership of the company to his son, Thomas, several years ago. A person of strong values and principles, Tom cared deeply about serving his customers with integrity and treating people fairly. He was an avid reader of history and enjoyed traveling to places of historic, national and natural significance with his wife. He particularly looked forward to reunions with his fellow US Navy VP-26 squadron members that took place around the country for many years, usually including visits to local naval bases. He was a long-time member of the Amesbury Rotary, and a parishioner at both St. Michael’s Church of Exeter, NH and Our Lady of Miraculous Medal of Hampton, NH. He shared 52 years of marriage with Marjorie, who predeceased him in 2015. Surviving family members include his children, Meredith Callanan and her husband, Joe of Gloucester, MA and Tom Cass and his wife, Bethany of Topsfield, MA; sister, Alison Cattan of New York, NY; grandchildren, Ben, Cormac, Madison, Ryan and Leah, and niece, Alice Lynch.
