Seabrook Beach - Virginia Mary Menihane, 90, long-time resident of Seabrook Beach, New Hampshire, passed away extraordinarily peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Bridges by Epoch Memory Care Assisted Living in Westford, Massachusetts. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late T. James Collins and Anna T. (Hunt) Collins. Beloved wife of the late William J. (“Bill”) Menihane. She was raised in Tewksbury and Lowell, Massachusetts and moved to Seabrook Beach, New Hampshire, where she resided from 1971 – 2017. She was educated in the Lowell, Massachusetts school system. Mrs. Menihane was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Lowell Chapter, one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. She was an active member of the Seabrook Community Centers Senior Programs, enjoyed its many travel outings, and was an avid bowler. She worked for Western Electric (now Nokia Corporation) for 19 years, where she met her husband Bill. She worked at the Booth Mills and at the Lowell Sun in Lowell, MA. She is survived by her brother Roger Collins of Chelmsford, MA, her sister Ann (Collins) Miller of Laguna Woods, California, MA; sister-in-law Florence (Collins) Gosselin of Winchester, MA; 6 nieces and nephews and their spouses, 10 grandnieces and grandnephews, 1 great-grandnephew, and many cousins and friends and neighbors, all who were active members of her life. She is predeceased by her oldest brother, Edward James Collins, formerly of Woburn, MA and sister-in-law Minnie Collins, formerly of Chelmsford, MA. She was a Communicant of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Seabrook Beach, New Hampshire and regularly bore the gifts of bread and wine to Our Lord’s altar each Saturday at 5:30pm mass. Visiting hours will be held from 9 - 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 11 AM in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1 Lowell Street, Seabrook Beach, NH 03874. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider to donate memorial gifts in her name to the Marian Missionaries by clicking here.
