Wayne R. Whitcomb

December 30, 1958 - November 19, 2021

North Hampton – Wayne R. Whitcomb, 62, of North Hampton, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 19, 2021. Wayne was born on December 30, 1958 in Amesbury, MA the son of Robert E.L. Whitcomb and the late June E. (Morgan) Whitcomb of Merrimac MA. Raised in Merrimac, MA Wayne graduated from Pentucket Regional High School with the Class of 1976 and went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lowell University, enrolling in the Master’s Program. Wayne began his career in mechanical engineering, transitioning to the hi-tech industry. In 2004 he cofounded Demandware, an E-Commerce website platform, which he grew to success. This endeavor began in the second floor of his garage, in North Hampton along with talented co-workers, and friends, Dave Boyle, and Ulrike Mueller. Wayne was also founder of “Emotive Performance” a company he began which opened doors to events precious to him, and his staff. Wayne was a member of the Porsche Club of America, BMW Club, and the SCCA always challenging his talent and passion of racing. Being an avid car collector, builder and fabrication expert, his greatest joy was always his family. Surviving family members include his wife of 39 years this September 11, Cynthia (Mead) Whitcomb of North Hampton; children, Josh Whitcomb and his wife Heather of Fremont, Jackie Wilson and her husband Matt of Manchester; grandchildren, Ryan, Ruby, Max and Owen Whitcomb and Carter and Wyatt Wilson. Also survived by his father, Robert E.L. Whitcomb and partner, Jeanne Judson. Visiting hours will be held from 1 – 2 PM on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH, with a celebration of life immediately following at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish New Hampshire by clicking here or by mail to 814 Elm Street Suite 300, Manchester NH 03101 or a place dear to you.
