Ann L. Diltz

Hampton – Ann L. Diltz, 90, of Hampton, NH passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and she is awaiting all of us at the time of Jesus Christ’s Return. She was born on September 16, 1934 in Ayer, MA, a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Emma C. (Quinty) Lucas. Ann was raised in Shirley, MA and graduated from Ayer High School. She and her husband Robert owned and operated the King’s Court Inn in Campton, NH and the Mountain View Resort and Spa in Whitefield, NH for many years, until they retired. She stayed very involved in the community after her retirement.,,, she worked as a “Senior Helper”, visiting elderly individuals to assist them with whatever they may need, shopping, meals, writing relatives or just visiting. She also enjoyed Mah Jong and for many years would teach people how to play. Above all else, Ann enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Many people considered Ann their “best friend." Ann was a prolific writer of both stories and poems. She was also a wonderful photographer …. mostly of scenery … so she loved taking drives up into northern NH. Many family and friends have framed pictures Ann took, hanging in their homes. She was an avid sports fan particularly fond of the Boston teams. Up until just a few years ago. Ann was a golfer… once she was on the green, she was hard to beat… sinking putts from 40 or more feet on a regular basis. She is survived by her children; Rev. Jon E. Ryan and his wife Lisa of Hampton NH, Christopher R. Ryan of Phoenix, AZ, Thomas R. Ryan, Sr., of Exeter NH, Janellen Ryan of Epping NH, and Mary B. Voltz of Manchester, NH. Also her brother Joseph A. Lucas of Harrow, Ontario, her nine grandchildren Thomas Ryan, Jr., Jaymie, Jacob, Sarah, Lucas and Daniel Ryan, Matthew Voltz, Kelly Calvin, and Cole Cowan, and her many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, her daughter Kim M. Cowan, her brothers; Robert A. Lucas and her brother Frank “Buddy” Lucas, also her sisters Jayne L. Quackenbush and Mary E. Lucas. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ann on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, at 11:00 a.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. Burial to follow in West View Cemetery, Hampton Falls, NH. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
