Cecile A. Pageot

Hampton - Cecile Aline (Breault) Pageot passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. She was known by many names – Cil, Mom, Mrs. Pageot, CP and her favorite one – Memere! Even if she wasn’t your grandmother, you probably called her Memere. Cecile grew up in Lowell and Dracut, Massachusetts as part of a large French-Canadian family. At 19 she married the LOVE of her life – Armand L. Pageot (Al). Together they enjoyed 52 years of love, laughter and travel until his death on August 14, 2007. Al was in the Navy when she married him and she was a Navy wife, raising her three children in Massachusetts and Long Beach, California. Al retired from the Navy in 1965 and they moved back to the east coast to be closer to their extended families. Cecile was ahead of her time when it came to being a woman in business. In 1973, she opened a bridal shop in her home in Dracut, along with her friend and neighbor Lillian Desjardins. Rainbow Gowns eventually grew out of that space, and they moved to their own building in Dracut and eventually opened a second location in Nashua, NH. In 1985 she and Al moved to Hampton Beach, NH and became hoteliers with the purchase of The Algiers Motel. Over the next several years they purchased several more hotel/motels, which they ran with the help of their daughters and their families. In 1992, Cecile and Al moved to Seminole, Florida and began a long stint of being snowbirds, spending half the year in Florida and half at Ann Marie and Steven’s home in Hampton, NH. Cecile was known for being easy going, adventurous, sassy and generous with her love. She was a devoted wife, Mom, Memere and friend. She is survived by her three children and their spouses (who loved her like their own): Roger (Joanne), Nashua, NH, Therese (Dale) West, Deatsville, AL and Ann Marie (Steven) Chao, Hampton, NH. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Pageot (Alyssa Danforth), Gina Pageot, Sabrina Pageot, Peter (Paige) Stannard III, Amy Pageot, Amanda Cox, Christopher (Elise) Chao and Corina (Nick) Park and her 7 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents Omer and Yvonne (Chausse) Breault, her sisters Rita (Robert) Jamieson, Lillian (Gil) Trudel, Doris (Ernest) Bergeron and Georgette Breault, her brothers Armand, Henry (Glenda), Normand and Ronald. She is survived by her brothers Paul (Diane), Roger (Doris) and Joseph (Bernadette) and sisters-in-law Irene and Rachel. Friends and family may visit from 5-7 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. In lieu of flowers, Cecile requesting that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
