Cheryl "Shay" Perkins

Seabrook – Cheryl E. “Shay” Perkins, 78, a life-long resident of Seabrook, passed away peacefully at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Cheryl was born in Portsmouth on July 6, 1945, a daughter of the late Byron Marshall and Laura (Brown) Eaton. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip Myron Reed, Jr., who died in 2022. Cheryl loved her family and loved living in Seabrook. She worshipped at the Four Corners Church and the Rand Church and taught Sunday School at the Rand. She served as a secretary for Seabrook’s sewer project, worked in the assessor’s office and served on the Town’s Budget Committee for over 20 years. Cheryl also worked for Gould Shawmut of Newburyport for over 25 years. To say she enjoyed traveling is an understatement. Cheryl loved to cruise and travel with her family and friends and had visited many places around the world including: several cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Nova Scotia, the Mediterranean, Trans-Atlantic, the Panama Canal, Paris, Iceland, Egypt and Turkey. She also going to Florida whenever she got the chance and joining the United Sates Navy reunion get togethers with her Uncle Ollie and other veterans of the USS Hollis. Of all her travels, her favorite place was the Mount of Olives in East Jerusalem in Israel, a spot that she enjoyed not only for its’ beauty but for its’ spiritual meaning as well. Family was always the most important part of Cheryl’s life, and she loved the family gatherings. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Lawrence “Koko” Perkins and his wife, Lori of Seabrook and Randy Perkins and his wife Erin of Kensington, her daughters, Kristen Brown and her husband, Mike of Newbury and Lisa Banville and her husband, John of Nottingham, her grandchildren, Katelyn and Byron Perkins, Tommy Coelho, Brendan, Nick and Shannon Sullivan and Daumanic Fucile and her great grandchildren, Maeverie and Fennelle Creeden. She also leaves her siblings, Lillian Knowles, Nancy Barry, Cathy Mills, Clyde, Stephen, George, Richard and David Eaton, Elizabeth Marquis and John Marshall. In addition to her husband and parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her siblings, Byron, Robert and Herbert Marshall, Leonidas Eaton, Jr., Allen Eaton, Laura J. Eaton, Charles H. Marshall, Sr and Tami O’Neal. Visiting hours will be from 1 to 3 pm on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will follow the visitation starting at 3 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Four Corners Advent Christian Church, 1 Farm Lane, Seabrook, NH 03874.
