Chris Alexandropoulos

Epping - Chris Alexandropoulos, 71, of Epping, formerly of Portsmouth, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was born in Portsmouth, NH, on August 10, 1954, a son of the late John W. and Shirley J (Crowley) Alex. After living in Portsmouth for the majority of his life, he made Berwick his home for over a decade. In 2008, he and Lisa built their home in Epping, where he resided until his passing. At the age of 18, Chris began his career in the funeral industry as a cemetery burial vault installer, a role he would remain in for the next 53 years. For 40 of those years, he owned and operated Alex Vault Company, serving the New Hampshire Seacoast. Throughout his career, he formed countless friendships with his many coworkers, many of whom he considered family. Chris served as President of the Exeter Cemetery Association. He was immensely proud of his Greek heritage and was a genealogy enthusiast, discovering his extended family in Greece and Australia. He enjoyed music and attending concerts, spending time with his treasured best friends, Randy and Cheryl Daley, and, in his younger years, working on his father's pit crew for his super modified racecar team. Attending races at New York's Oswego Speedway was something he always enjoyed, as well as league bowling with his brothers and father. An avid animal lover, Chris’ dogs, Gia, Milos, and Cooper meant the world to him. His dream was to retire and open a dog rescue/sanctuary in Greece. He shared over 28 years with his wife, Lisa (Higgins) Alexandropoulos. In addition to his wife, family members include his two sons, the late Joshua Alex, who predeceased him in 2003, and Travis Alex and his wife Carrie of Rochester, NH, two daughters, Tara Grady and her husband Chad of Nottingham, NH, and Amanda Chick of Tampa, FL, grandchildren Chelsea Alex and Tyus Bobb, siblings Willam Alex and his wife Sharon of Rochester, NH, Tony Alex and his wife Leslie of Dover, NH, Jeffrey Rudinsky and his wife Susan of Mont Vernon, NH, Tammy Rafferty and her husband Scott of Milford, NH, and Michelle Wood and her husband James of Dover, NH, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Chris will forever be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to always lend a helping hand to his friends and family. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the funeral home. Comfortable, casual dress is encouraged. Burial will follow at Exeter Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his son.
