Constance M. Briggs

Hampton - Constance Mae Briggs, 92 of Hampton, NH and formerly of Oakland, Maine, passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 22, 2026, at Exeter Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of the late Alfred H. Sellers and Ella S. Fogelstrom. Raised in Biddeford, Maine, she graduated from Thorton Academy with the Class of 1952 and Becker College, Worcester, MA 1954 with an associates degree. After a brief career as a medical secretary, she married and chose to remain home and raise a loving family. Connie engaged in many creative hobbies including sewing, making her own clothes, knitting, ceramics, and made numerous stained-glass creations. Connie had a love of music and was an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed her time spent at camp in northern Maine with friends and family. She particularly enjoyed camp activities such as riding the logging roads in search of moose, hunting for partridge in season, and the end of the day campfires. She also enjoyed the warm winters spent in Florida with her late husband Richard and friends. Connie was an avid sports fan of all the Boston sports teams. She was particularly excited to watch the Patriots where she would regularly call her family members and enthusiastically ask “are you ready for some football?” Surviving family members include children, Bruce A. Pierson and his wife Ann Maria of Hampton, NH, William C. Pierson of South Berwick, ME, Jane E. Arnold and her husband Robert of Canaan, NH, Kathe Maxsimic of Cape Elizabeth, ME, and Paula Laverty of South Portland, ME. In addition, she leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and nephews Chuck A. Sellers and his wife Kathy of East Waterboro, ME and David S. Sellers and his wife Becky of Fryeburg, ME. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her husband, Richard O. Briggs, her first husband, Norman L. Pierson, and her brother Carl S. Sellers, his wife Carol, and their son Donald of East Waterboro, ME. Services will be private at Connie’s request. In lieu of flowers, please make online gifts in memory of Constance M.
