Diane Couture

Hampton- Diane Couture, 69, of Hampton, NH, passed away at home peacefully on May 10, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born January 21, 1956, in Concord, the daughter of Wally and Barbara (Dimick) Ames. Diane was a lifelong resident of New Hampshire graduating from Concord High School Class of 1974. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Business Administration from Revier University. Diane enjoyed a rewarding career as an Occupational Therapist working in various NH school districts providing services to children with learning disabilities and physical dysfunction. Additionally, she spent several years as the Assistant Director of the Twichell Program in Concord responsible for the administrative requirements of the program. Diane was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Alain, and together they settled in Auburn, NH to raise a family. A dedicated Mom first and foremost, Diane greatly enjoyed her two boys, encouraging and supporting them in their many interests and activities. Camping was a favorite family activity spending weeks each year at campgrounds in NH and Maine. In retirement Diane and Alain relocated to Hampton Beach where she enjoyed the beach, long walks with her dog Nova, and playing board games with family and friends. Diane loved to travel, taking trips to California, Florida, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. For their 40th anniversary, Diane and Alain embarked on a cross-country adventure traveling by train from Boston to Grand Canyon with stops in Chicago, Sante Fe and the Flagstaff/Sedona/Grand Canyon area. She is predeceased by her parents Wallace J. and Barbara Ames. She leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Alain Couture of Hampton, NH, sons Matther Couture and Christopher Couture of Hampton. NH, sister Mary Wilkinson of Sun City, Fl., many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Nova. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Diane for a period of visitation on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842 with a celebration of life immediately following at 4 pm at the funeral home. A reception to follow at Galley Hatch Restaurant, 325 Lafayette Rd. Hampton, NH. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Diane’s family would like to send their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Cornerstone VNA from Rochester, NH, for all the love and care she received during her final weeks. In lieu of flowers, please hug your children , see a sunrise, and consider adopting a dog or making a donation to your local SPCA shelter or the charity of your choice in memory of Diane.
