Donna L. Miller

No. Hampton - The first child of Albert (AJ) Miller of Seabrook, NH and Ethel Miller (Butland) of Amesbury, MA. Donna passed away suddenly at her home in North Hampton on Monday, August 18. She leaves behind a brother, Edward (Eddie) Miller and wife Barbara Miller, sister Sandra Steck (Miller) and husband Robert Steck of Holland, Michigan. Nephews Cody Steck (Celia Arick-Steck), children Killian, Kit, Baron and Saoirse Steck (due Nov ’25) of Zeeland, Michigan. Another nephew, Austin Steck of Holland, Michigan. Donna grew up in Hampton, graduating Winnacunnet H.S., Class of 1976. One of her passions was spending time with the 76’ers Alumni of her class. Donna enlisted in the U.S. Army directly from H.S. and served her country for three years at both Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, CO and Fort Richardson, Anchorage, AK. After her honorable discharge from military service in 1979, Donna returned to the East Coast and served as a civilian at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until she retired in 2010. She maintained her commercial license and Hazmat certification while working in transportation, maintenance and snow removal. After retiring, she worked for periods of time for Don Knowles Tree Service in North Hampton, the North Hampton State Liquor Store and finally for the Department of Public Works at the North Hampton recycling facility, where she enjoyed her favorite pastime of greeting and helping residents while maneuvering heavy equipment. Donna will be fondly remembered for her care, compassion and love for others. She would often pitch in and help those in need, whether it was a place to stay, a ride to their next destination or a shoulder to lean on. Donna particularly enjoyed pet & house sitting along with personal caregiving for ailing family members and friends. She was extremely talented with sewing, macrame, and framed art. Donna had a fierce love for the NFL New England Patriots and spent many a Sunday with friends at Locals Restaurant cheering them on. Her enthusiasm for life, her love for God and caring for others will be remembered and sorely missed, never replaced. Donna was a congregate at Rye Bethany Church and often attended Sunday Services at Hampton Falls Baptist Church with family. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at First Hampton Falls Baptist Church on October 4 at 11AM with a celebration of life to follow at a location to be announced. Donna wished to be cremated. The internment will be on Monday, October 6 at 1pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Family and friends are welcome.
