Everett C. Strangman

Seabrook – Everett C. Strangman, 82, of Seabrook, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newburyport, MA, on February 12, 1943, he was the son of the late Everett and Philomene (Hamel) Strangman. Raised in Newburyport, he graduated from Newburyport High School with the Class of 1962 and attended Northeastern University. Shortly after, Everett enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served from 1964 to 1968. Everett began his career at Harvard University as on staff, where he worked for 15 years while serving as an on-call firefighter for the town of Seabrook. He later realized his true calling was firefighting and dedicated his life to the Seabrook Fire Department for 30 years, serving as Deputy Chief for 10 years and Chief for 2 years before retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Raymond E. Walton American Legion Post #70 and a past president of Seabrook Little League, where he helped create the Purple Team. Everett was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling to England, Scotland, and Ireland as well as wintering in St. Petersburg, FL, with his wife. Everett shared 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandra (Wells) Strangman of Seabrook. In addition to his wife, surviving family members include his children, Brian Strangman and his wife Nancy of Somersworth, Bruce Strangman of Pinellas Park, FL and Jeffrey Strangman and his fiancée Carissa Morse of Somersworth. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Benz and her husband Peter of Hampton and Lillian Lynn Stan and her husband Michael of Hampton Falls; grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan, Luke, and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Everlee and Tanner and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Hamel. Visitation will be held from 1–4 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.
