Francis E. Perrault

West Newbury, MA - Francis E. Perrault, affectionately known as “Papa Bear,” 83, a lifelong resident of West Newbury, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He was born on June 15, 1941, in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Frank and Celia Perrault. Fran shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Anne K. (Johnston), at the time of her passing in 2013. Raised in Haverhill, MA, Fran was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. After graduation, he followed in his father's footsteps, embarking on a longtime career in truck driving. His profession took him all over the country, working independently as an over-the-road trucker for a time and making local deliveries for Spring Hill Dairy in Ward Hill, MA. In his retirement years, he found joy in driving a taxi for Courtesy Cab, continuing to serve his community. Fran met Anne in Haverhill, MA, while she was studying at McIntosh College. The young couple married and settled in West Newbury, MA, where they raised their seven children. Fran's love and devotion to Anne was unwavering, especially during her illness when he cared for her with incredible dedication. His passion for sports was legendary. He was an avid fan of all sports, effortlessly reciting statistics and facts. He especially loved watching the Red Sox games or sharing football games with his grandchildren. Fran's enthusiasm for good music, good food, and travel was infectious. Fran will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and steadfast nature. Above all else, he will be cherished for his deep love of family. He treasured family gatherings, holidays, and weekend activities, always creating lasting memories with those he loved. Fran truly lived life to the fullest. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Suzanne Andrukaitis and her husband Paul, Emory Perrault and his wife Betsy, Mark Perrault, Laurie Perrault-Beaupre and her husband Mark, Danielle Karampatsos, Jason Perrault and his wife Jennifer, and Nicole Perrault and her partner Eric Ericson. He also leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren, Cameron Andrukaitis and his wife Danielle, Courtney Andrukaitis, Melissa Perrault and her husband Zachary Cowing, Daniel Perrault and his wife Melissa, Ryan and Kyle Perrault, and Shantel Karampatsos, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren Asher, Sienna, and John, and many extended family members who will miss him dearly. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The National Kidney Foundation Brookhaven Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his wife, Anne.
