Katherine Marie Addie

Brentwood - Katherine Marie Addie, age 63, passed away on April 11, 2026, after a weeklong battle following an acute medical event. She was surrounded by her loved ones and passed immersed in love. She was born on December 18, 1962, at All Saints’ Hospital in Chatham, Kent, England, the eldest child of the late Vernon Addie and Mary Corcoran. At a young age, her family resided in Rochester, Kent, England, before moving to the United States in 1963, where they settled in Winchester, Massachusetts. Katherine was a graduate of Winchester High School, Class of 1981. After high school, she became an integral part of the Marketing Team at High Liner Foods (formerly National Sea Products), where she worked for 13 years before leaving to devote more time to her family. In 1986 she married and eventually settled in Exeter, New Hampshire. Her eldest child, Rachel DiGiovanni, was born on May 3, 1989. Several years later, her son, Jacob DiGiovanni, was born on October 2, 1995. Katherine later graduated as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from Northern Essex Community College in Spring of 2004. She graduated with a 4.00 GPA while balancing the demands as a full-time Mother. She worked as a CMA for over 10 years. Her love for travel was admirable. She lived life as many aspire to. Many trips to Ireland allowed her to spend cherished time with family while also gaining a broader perspective on the world. Family was the center of Katherine’s life. She found the utmost joy in caring for her children and grandchildren, Braelyn and Averey McAniff. She ensured they would never go without, even if it meant she did. This devotion was often carried quietly, as she moved through life with grace and strength. The love and values she instilled will endure for generations. This was shown recently as she cared for her mother the weeks leading to her passing on March 15, 2026. She is survived by her fiancé Ian Baylis and his sons Matthew and Peter; her children Rachel DiGiovanni and her partner Mike; her son Jacob DiGiovanni and his wife Taylor; her grandchildren Braelyn and Averey McAniff; her brother Robert Addie; her nieces Sage Addie and her husband Josh, Cierra Addie, and Neve Houstin. Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 pm on Friday, April 17, 2026 in St. Michael Parish, 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter, NH 03833. Burial will follow in the Exeter Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
