Mary Ann Capolupo

Salisbury, MA- Mary Ann Chandler Capolupo, 59 of Salisbury, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 1, 1965, in Lowell, Massachusetts to William and Roberta (Treadwell) Chandler. Mary was the only daughter and youngest of 7 siblings. She grew up in Tewksbury, MA and spent summers on Plum Island before calling Salisbury home since 1988. Mary enjoyed the small things that life has to offer. She would often be found outside in a quiet corner of the world watching the birds, plucking weeds, collecting acorns, and listening to the evening peepers. She was a talented writer and documented her travels, thoughts, and her many to-do lists. Mary was an even better mother and raised her three children with kindness and compassion, always supporting their dreams and ambitions. Mary will be remembered for many things, but above all she was selfless, kind, welcoming and always happy to see you. No matter who you were, friend or former stranger, you could count on being greeted with a warm smile, a hug, and a kiss. Her door was always open, and those closest to her didn’t need an invitation to pop in and say hello. One couldn’t help but be drawn to her. She had a way of taking care of everybody before herself. If you were in her home, she made sure your plate and cup were always full. Mary leaves behind her three children; Ryan Capolupo and Jessica Leary of Salisbury, MA, Erica and Christopher Breen of Newbury, MA, and Melanie Capolupo of Salisbury, MA. She also leaves behind Wayne Capolupo of Salisbury, MA, her husband of 20 years and lifetime friend and admirer. Additionally, her beloved six brothers; Jim and Louise Chandler of West Virginia, William and Cathy Chandler of Florida, Robert and Deborah Chandler of Ipswich, MA, John (Jack) Chandler of Plum Island, MA, Michael and Deborah Chandler of Lawrenceville, GA, Daniel and Shelley Chandler of Hampton, NH, along with dozens of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews: most notably Alice and Dan Saunders and Timothy Roper. Mary’s close friends were many, including the Botterman, Spinney, Ossing, Lojek and Finnegan families, the entire Tewksbury and Plum Island Clans, and countless others who left an impact on her life and she on theirs. You know who you are. Above all else, Mary leaves behind her loyal dog Slipper and her favorite person - her grandson Malcolm “Mac” Breen. A celebration of life is being held on Sunday April 14, from 1-4 PM at Blue Ocean Event Center 4 Oceanfront, North Salisbury, MA, followed immediately by readings and a eulogy by friends and family.
