Mary C. Gregg

Hampton – Mary C. Gregg, 81, of Hampton, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, with loving family by her bedside. Mary was born in Barre, VT, January 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Matthew and Gertrude (Coughlin) O’Hagan. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Mt. Saint Mary College of Hooksett, NH in 1954 and while at college, she met the love of her life and future husband, the late Edward J. Gregg. They were married in 1954 and after living in Hartford, CT for a short time, the couple moved to Lawrence, MA to raise their family. Mary taught Home Economics in the Lawrence school system until 1992, and after their retirement, Mary and Ed moved to Hampton. A very spiritual lady, Mary volunteered for many positions within her church in both Lawrence and Hampton. She was also a member of the Quilting Guild in Seabrook. Mary always had a smile for everyone. The ultimate teacher, even in the face of her own adversity, she had grace, patience and wisdom. She is survived by her sons, Michael Gregg and his wife Patricia of Bradford, MA, David Gregg of Hampton, Thomas Gregg and his wife Brenda of Methuen, MA, Edward Gregg and his companion Cathy Page of Lawrence, MA and Patrick Gregg and his wife Sharon of Lynn, MA; her daughter, Kathleen Robitaille and her favorite son-in-law Jeffrey of Milford, MA; her sister Margaret Ayer of Montpelier, VT; her 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many cousins and dear friends. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her son Brian J Gregg, and her brother Edward O’Hagan. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home - Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Burial is scheduled for 1:30 PM on Thursday following the Mass in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
