Mary Lou Pacheco

North Hampton – Mary Lou Pacheco, 72, of North Hampton and a former longtime resident of Hampton, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by those she loved, on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Mary Lou was born in Taunton, MA on July 29, 1950, a daughter of the late Leo and Lucille (Williams) Pacheco. She was raised mostly in Hampton and was a graduate of Winnacunnet High School. After high school she worked as nurse’s aide at the Rockingham County Nursing Home and at the same time, worked as hairdresser at the nursing home, styling the hair of the many residents there. After leaving nursing, she continued her work as a hairdresser and cut children’s hair at the former Cutting Zoo of Portsmouth. Mary Lou was a very sociable person and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loving, kind and caring and often put other’s needs ahead of her own. She was a skilled artist whose paintings adorn the homes of many family members and friends, and she also enjoyed studying art and attending art classes whenever she got a chance. Left to cherish her memory are her son, David Pacheco and his fiancée, Carrie Johns, of Hampton, her brother, Donald Pacheco and wife, Annette, of Chelsea, MI, her nieces and nephews; Jen Pierce and husband, Tom of Hampton, Stephen Lancaster of Rocklin, CA, Jane Pacheco and husband Dennis of Chelsea, MI and Scott Pacheco of Chelsea, MI. She is also survived by her four great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was also predeceased by her sister, Pamela Pacheco, her former fiancé, Daniel Gallison and her former longtime companion, Gordon Starkweather. Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 12 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Services will follow the visitation starting at 12 pm in the funeral home.
