Monica L. Mattucci

Exeter - Monica Lynn Mattucci, 36 of Exeter, passed away peacefully surrounded by love at her home on January 18, 2026. Born August 14, 1989 in Boston, MA she is the beloved daughter of Kathryn M. Lane and Roy T. Mattucci, Jr. Monica was born with Aicardi Syndrome a rare neurological condition, yet her life was defined not by disability, but by the deep love, care and devotion that surrounded her every day. She attended the Richie McFarland Children’s Center and then on to the Exeter Schools, Preschool, Main St and Lincoln St Elementary Schools, Cooperative Middle School and Exeter High School. From the very beginning, Monica was cherished by her family and friends and brought meaning, connection and tenderness into the lives of those who knew her. Her favorite past times include camping, family reunions, Ellacoya State Park, Hampton Beach and the Yellow Cottage, listening to music especially from the 80's, loud and fun gatherings and places, Cotten candy and being with friends and family. In her later years, dedicated caregivers, house managers and nurses provided compassionate care, treating her with dignity, patience, kindness and love for which her family remains deeply grateful. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Frank W. Lane and her paternal grandparents, Roy and Doris Mattucci. Survivors include her loving mother, Kathryn M. Lane of Brentwood; father, Roy T. Mattucci, Jr. of North Hampton, NH; brother, Michael R. Mattucci of Brentwood, NH; maternal grandmother, Eileen S Lane of Exeter, NH and many aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends all of whom held her close to their hearts. Monica's life is a testament to the power of love, family and compassion. Though her voice was quiet, her presence was profound and she will always be remembered. Visitation will be held from 3–5 pm on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH.
