Patrice Martin

Hampton – Patrice Martin, 60, of Hampton, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA with loving family at her bedside. She was born March 21, 1954, in Marblehead, MA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite (Disario) Canavan. Patrice was raised in Peabody, MA and graduated from Peabody High with the Class of 1972. She married Mark Martin after high school and they settled in Salisbury, MA to raise their family. Patrice was a special woman; she was loving yet strong, independent, honest, straight forward and truthful. She was everybody’s Mom back in their Salisbury neighborhood and her home was always open to her children’s friends. Patrice managed to see the best in people, pointed out the positives in every situation and always provided sound advice. Patrice was an extraordinary mother, a fantastic “Nani,” a devoted sister and a dear friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Patrice had worked as an underwriter for Service Credit Union before falling ill and had previously worked in the mortgage department of Wells Fargo. Patrice is survived by her daughters, Tracy Keaton and her husband Shawn of Seabrook and Erin Martin of Bellows Falls, VT; her grandchildren, Mikayla Martin, Jarret Martin Jr., Colin Brown and Brady Keaton; her siblings, James Canavan and his wife Rhonda of Peabody and Sandra Deveaux and her husband Robert of Amesbury, MA. She also leaves her former husband, Mark Martin of Plaistow and her many close and dear friends who helped her so much after she became ill. She was predeceased by her son, Jarret Martin and her grandson, Triston Brisbee. Visiting hours will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, December 1, 2014 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A memorial service will follow the visitation starting at 1PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
