Patricia Ann Camuso

Seabrook - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Camuso, who passed away May 20, 2019 following a period of declining health. Patty was the oldest child of William and Mary McMahon, of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Patty was born on May 30, 1953 and had 3 younger brothers. She grew up in Marblehead and went to local schools. After graduating from high school, Patty went to work for AT&T. Shortly after, she met and married Nicholas Camuso. Nick and Patty moved to Seabrook in the early 70's and opened a donut shop. After this venture, Patty began work at the Greyhound Race Track in Seabrook, handling dogs and for a period of time, she and Nick tried their hand at raising greyhounds. As time went on and they began their family, Patty took a job with Rockingham Community Action. As it was a part time job, she also worked as a classroom aide at Seabrook Elementary School. As a kind and patient teacher, Patty was much loved by her students. In fact, anyone who knew Patty at all, could see that Patty was her happiest when she was in the company of children. At the Elementary School, the Principal would do an annual magic show for the kids and Patty was his "assistant". After certain magical incantations, Patty was caused to levitate, an act which never failed to elicit gasps of wonder amongst the children. All these years later, there are a lot of grown adults who will recall when Mrs. Camuso, free of the bonds of gravity, floated in mid-air! Patty worked for Rockingham Community Action for the entire time that her children grew up and started families of their own, almost 30 years. Among her co-workers she is remembered as a hard working person who was a ready servant to those who sought assistance there. This was never more evident than during the annual Holiday Programs. For almost 3 months each year she quietly devoted countless hours of work above and beyond her regular duties to ensure that families – and most particularly the children – were assured a joyful and abundant holiday. Starting from when her children were little kids, Patty began enlisting their help in sorting, carrying and organizing gifts. I believe she did this to instill in her own, the value of helping others, a virtue that Patty practiced every day of her life. While it is true that Patty dearly loved children, it must be noted that even this paled when compared to the love she had for her own children, and her grandchildren. And not surprisingly, when due to her health, Patty was unable to work on the Holiday Programs this year, her children arose to carry the torch, thus was the power of Patty’s loving influence on her children. Patty was predeceased by her husband, Nick and a daughter, Anna Marie. She was also predeceased by her brothers William, and Stephen and her father, William. Patty is survived by her mother, Mary McMahon, a brother Peter, and by her children Tony, and his wife Jess, Rocco, Nicole and Nina. Patty was blessed with 3 granddaughters, Aria, Cassidy and Vivian, who spent a lot of their time growing up with Grammy. And now Patty, having completed this season of her life, has been born into the next season, one where all life again is in bloom, the gentle breezes of spring rustle the verdant leaves and where we find ourselves blissfully in the company of loved ones lost. Patty’s family would like to invite those who knew Patty to join them at visiting hours from 5 to 7PM on Tuesday, May 28th at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Rd, Hampton. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 29th at 11:00am at the Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook, NH.
