Ruth H. Stacy

Rye – Ruth H. Stacy, 81, of Rye, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Oceanside Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hampton after a long illness. She was born on January 26, 1932 on her parents’ farm on Drakeside Road in Hampton, a daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Peterson) Walker. Raised in Hampton, she was a member of the Hampton Academy “Class of 1950” and in her twelve years of education she never missed a day of school, a feat she was extremely proud of accomplishing. Ruth lived many years in Tampa and Redington Shores, Florida. She worked for the Hillsborough County Clerk of Courts and as a Realtor and retired to the “beach” a spot she dearly loved. In her later years she moved back to New Hampshire to be near her family. Ruth enjoyed her travels to Japan, France, Italy, Spain, Ecuador and Puerto Rico. She lived in many locations throughout the US including South Carolina, California, Georgia, and Panama. Ruth loved her family but Sundays were reserved for football. Whether she was at the sports bar or in her home with her sisters, you could hear her cheering loudly for the Patriots. Many a night was spent discussing football and baseball strategy. She was fully engrossed in politics as well and she could not be swayed on her opinions. Ruth loved to read and especially enjoyed the works of James Michener. She was an interesting and fun-loving person to be around and she will be sorely missed. Family members include her two daughters: Debra Chase and her husband Paul Biron of Rye and their children Lisa Chase of Rye, Michael of Manchester, Jessica of Goffstown, and Stefanie Biron of Portland, Oregon and Rhonda Stacy-Coyle of Portsmouth and her children Jackson and Nellie Coyle. She is also survived by five great grandchildren. One of eleven children, she is also leaves her five brothers Phillip Walker and wife Yvonne of Alabama, Robert Walker of Hampton, Donald and wife Ann Walker of Hampton, Ralph Walker of California, Carl and wife Sally Walker of North Hampton and her two sisters, Virginia Peterson of Epping, and Elaine Nadeau of Hampton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her former husband Robert Stacy and her brothers Allen and Wesley Walker and her sister Eleanor. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Partridge House, Oceanside Nursing and Sol Amor Hospice for their loving care of Ruth. Visitation was April 17, 2013 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton followed by a graveside service in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Visitation was held- Time: 12 - 1 P.M. Date: Wednesday, April 17, 2013 Location: Remick & Gendron Funeral Home Address: 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Graveside Services were in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton immediately following the visitation.
