Hampton - With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Sandra Ellen "Sandy" Weddell, who passed peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by the loving presence of her family. Born on December 15, 1954, in Providence, Rhode Island, Sandy is a graduate of Elliot Hospital, School of Nursing. She lived a life defined by optimism, compassion, resilience, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and an exceptional nurse whose caring heart touched countless lives. Whether comforting a patient, encouraging a loved one, or offering a listening ear, Sandy had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, valued, and cared for. To know Sandy was to know unconditional love. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—exploring antique shops in search of hidden treasures, cozy afternoons spent making beautiful cross-stitch pieces with her husband, finding peace by the ocean, and perfecting the art of creating the perfect cup of tea or iced coffee. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. Sandy adored the holidays and passed on what have now become lifelong traditions for her family. She genuinely celebrated and cherished every milestone, and every quiet moment spent with those she loved. “I love you as big as the sky” was her very favorite way to convey just how much love she had for those closest to her. Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, soulmate and best friend Richard Weddell; her loving daughter, Jennifer Walichnowski, and her husband Maciej, of Nottingham, NH; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Hilton and Gabriela Walichnowski; brother John Carr and his wife Mary, of Canton, MA, sister, Jackie MacDonald and her husband Steve, of Franklin, NH, and brother Mark Carr and his wife Estel, of Nashua, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Norma Carr and nephew Austin MacDonald. For many years, Sandy faced multiple health challenges with extraordinary strength, courage, and grace. While these illnesses presented some insurmountable challenges, it never diminished the warmth of her spirit, the depth of her compassion, or the love she so freely gave to others. Her perseverance inspired everyone privileged enough to know her, and her legacy is one of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and enduring love. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Sandy's love lives on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the countless acts of kindness she shared throughout her lifetime. Her gentle smile, compassionate heart, and selfless nature will never be forgotten. A visiting hour will be held from 4-5 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the Remick and Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. A prayer service will immediately follow at 5 pm in the funeral home.
