Steven W. Granger

North Hampton - Steven Wayne Granger,57, passed away at home following a brief illness. Born the youngest of four children, he spent an adventurous childhood in North Hampton, playing pee-wee sports and causing mayhem, earning the nickname of “Steven the Demon.” Six people in one house brought many chaotic moments, but the house was full of love. He graduated from Winnacunnet High School in 1983, going onto study electricity and electronics at Laconia Technical College. His career was spent in computer programming at Apollo, Hewlett Packard, and Celisca. Steven was on the team that built computers for Dreamworks. He spent several years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He traveled for his work, mostly to San Diego, one trip driving cross country there and back to NH. He is predeceased by his father, Edward E Granger, Jr. Survived by his mother, Barbara A (Maroney) Granger; brother, Edward Granger III and his wife Kathy and their children and grandchildren; brother, Larry Granger; sister, Susan Dunham; life partner, Susan Granger whom he married on Valentine’s Day 1993; daughter, Tauniua Hatch and her husband Cody; grandchildren, Troy Neumann and his wife Ambrosia and daughter Liberty, Cody Neumann and his wife Kayla and daughters, Briella, Oakley, Aleeyah and Andrea Hatch; nieces, Alicia Pelletier and her husband Allen and children, Natalie, Lillian, and Theodore, Stephanie Dunham-Sampson and her husband Tim and children, Noah, Regis and Julius and many other loved nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was a member of St Teresa Church, Bethel Christian Church, and Bethany Church, spending many Sundays being uplifted in his faith. He spent the last decade of his life lovingly caring for his parents, allowing them to remain in their home. He enjoyed attending college football and hockey games with his dad, especially the UNH Wildcats and watching the Patriots. He loved horror and detective stories, and card games of any kind. He was always up for a meal and drink, was a great listener and offered sensible life advice. He could be seen around town in an old t-shirt and shorts with un-tied work boots and his “do-rag,” even in winter. He was a man that could talk to anyone about anything, had the biggest heart and personality, and infectious laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him. A visiting hour will be held from 4 – 5 PM on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH with a celebration of life immediately following at 5 PM.
