Patricia Jane Heywood

Seabrook - Patricia Jane (Foote) Heywood, of Seabrook, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital at the age of 80. Born in Newburyport, MA, on October 22, 1944, Pat was the daughter of the late Lucien Wilbur and Edna (Soucie) Foote. Raised and educated in Seabrook, Pat attended Winnacunnet High School. Pat worked as a laundry/housekeeping supervisor at Seaview Retreat in Rowley, MA for an impressive 35 years, dedicating herself to her job with unwavering pride. Her commitment to excellence and hard work earned her the respect of everyone who worked alongside her. Her coworkers became some of her dearest friends, and she touched the lives of many residents and families during her time there. A fierce competitor and talented athlete, Pat excelled in field hockey, basketball, and softball during her younger years. Even as an adult, she remained active, continuing to play softball with her friends and showcasing her enduring passion for sports. Pat was also known for her sense of humor. A true prankster, she had an incredible ability to bring fun and laughter to any gathering. Her infectious smile could light up any room, and her playful spirit was one of the many things people loved about her. Family and friends held a special place in Pat’s heart. She cherished the time spent with them, whether it was camping, traveling, or embarking on new adventures together. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. Pat was also incredibly handy and resourceful. If you needed help fixing your car, building a shed, running electricity, or installing plumbing, she was the person to call. She could often be heard saying, “I’ve got things to do”. Her legacy of hard work, athleticism, humor, and love for her family and friends will continue to inspire all who knew her. Patricia is survived by her 3 daughters, Lee Ann Cahoon and her husband Francis of Salisbury, MA, Patricia “Tink” J. Heywood of Seabrook, and Lori Hand and her husband Sean of Haverhill, MA. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald Foote of Ossipee and Lucien W. Foote III of Seabrook, as well as her grandchildren, Lindsay Godzyk and her husband Brandon of Seabrook, Julia Hand and her fiancé Mary Lambert of Manchester and Nicholas Hand of Haverhill, MA. Pat felt strongly that no services be held at the time of her death. She wanted her family and friends to have a party as a celebration of her life. Details related to this celebration to follow.
